Agility Fix-It (2014)

Got problems? We got answers! This class will help you work through any of the struggles you are having in training, in class, or in competition! Agility Fix-It is a personal, specific training program for you and your dog! This is a unique problem solving opportunity for all handlers and dogs!

In this year’s class, you can choose from one of three focus tracks to participate in as a working student:
  • Fixers (for newcomers to this class who have not yet participated in the Fix It class or any of the similar courses at Agility U)
  • Repeaters (for folks who have taken this course in the past or a similar course at Agility U, and want to continue to build on their learning, proof behaviors, work on new behaviors and more!)
  • Fear, Anxiety and Reactivity (for dogs who are struggling with issues such as fear, anxiety and reactivity)
All participants have access to all three tracks!

In this class, it is all about you and your dog! Bring your training questions, issues, problems and anything in need of “fixing” to get a training program and problem solving class that is specific to the needs of your dog! This can include anything of the following and more:

  • * building drive, focus and motivation
  • * eliminating unwanted behaviors (zooming, sniffing, over-arousal, visiting)
  • * transferring behaviors from home or class to the trial ring
  • * start line fix-it
  • * contacts fix-it – running or stopped contacts!
  • * weave pole fix-it
  • * jumping issues
  • * handling issues such as off courses or refusals
  • * tightening turns
  • * getting more speed and extension on course
  • * reducing stress and dealing with distractions
  • * and new for 2014: repeaters and dealing with stress, anxiety and reactivity!

Course Participation & Tuition Levels

Type of participation:

  • Working (posts responses to written assignments, posts videos of sequences, gets instructor feedback to all of these as well as answers to any questions posted, can actively participate in forum, chat and office) Limit: 10 in each of the 3 tracks
  • Auditing (can view and read all videos/assignments/posts from instructor and working students, will get instructor answers to course-specific questions posted, can actively participate in class forum, chat and office hours) Limit: Unlimited
  • Observing (can view and read all videos/assignments/posts from instructor and working students in documents, links, forum and chat but do not participate in class forum, chat and office hours other than to read instructor, worker and auditor posts). Limit: Unlimited
