Course Description

Commit! Two Jump Toolbox: 20 Games for Complete Commitment :: Tracy Sklenar

Build more speed, teach tighter turns, develop distance skills and get rid of refusals in this fun course designed to teach your dog to easily commit to lines and jumps!

Commitment to lines and jumps is a critical element to excellence on course! By teaching your dog to better commit to the lines and jumps, you can build more speed and tighter turns while also being able to stay in motion to get to better position on course! Plus, complete commitment eases the pressure to have to be ‘perfect’ in your timing or mechanics – your dog will easily be able to read the cues and understand his job while also improving jumping skills and confidence!

Commitment is the key to speed, distance and tight turns – in this course, you will learn games for both. Every game will have a video explanation and video demo, along with flatwork, a one-jump game and a two-jump game! Plus, we will look at how to build it into course work.

We will teach games for:

  • Commitment to Lines
    • Extension & Speed (ahead of you, behind you and laterally!)
    • After crosses
    • On sends
    • On lead outs
  • Commitment to Collection and Turn Cues
  • Commitment to Backsides
  • Commitment to Wraps
  • Commitment to Finishing the Job (eliminating back jumping)
  • And more!

This class is perfect for any handlers wishing to improve their dogs’ commitment skills, from young dogs (8 months and older) just beginning to learn about handling to Masters/International level dogs that are ready to go to the next level – and everyone in between! This class is also helpful for any size of dog, and demos will be filmed with tiny dogs, medium dogs, and large dogs!
