Walter Santos is back with another fabulous class for dog sport athletes! The Fitness Challenge is designed around two leading-edge psychology concepts. The first is the use of a keystone habit, which is a simple change in behavior that leads to a waterfall of other positive changes in lifestyle choices. Experts in psychology, fitness, and lifestyle management all agree that exercise is the keystone behavior to make life changes with minimal effort! The second concept is the use of mini-habits, which are simple habits that are easy to adopt. The concept of mini-habits or small habits has been proven by researchers and used by psychologists and trainers all over the world. A mini-habit is so small that it requires very little effort and time and guarantees success by nature of being so simple. Walter’s mini-workouts are designed to be short and simple and when you combine them with a group of motivated friends, they’re also fun!

Walter has designed this class for everyone from the beginner exerciser to the fitness fiend. For each of the four months, he has created a mini-workout specifically for athletes. Each one:

  • requires just minutes to complete
  • requires no equipment or special clothes
  • requires less space than the average coffee table

Furthermore, the mini-workout is the same set of exercises for the month so you only have to learn the exercises once! And, each challenge has multiple levels so you can start at your fitness level and progress at your own pace. Every month targets a different area (legs, core, arms) while building on the previous months success. All the participants are working and can post their workout results and/or video daily or weekly. There will also be more information on habit creation, nutrition, diet, and fitness goals and incentives (AU gift certificates & gear) to keep everyone motivated!

Course Structure:

  • This is a 4 month course that is also available month-to-month. It will introduce dog sport competitors to the fitness benefits of mini-workouts and will explore the concepts of keystone and mini-habits and how they work on fitness, nutrition and diet goals. Each month Walter will present the mini-workout with three different levels so everyone can begin at a level appropriate to their fitness. The exercises are simple and easy to learn. There is no need for equipment and the space required is no more than for a beach towel or yoga mat! All of these exercises are safe, easy and fun! While each one is a workout, you won’t be exhausted and sore! The intent is to steadily build on your capabilities and improve at your pace. This is a cleverly designed class by a fitness expert who develops athletes in a wide variety of sports. You will be able to focus on your skill level and your progress! All the participants will be “working” students but video posting is not required. Walter will be looking for students to simply post their daily result, which can be as simple as “Done!” There will, however, be weekly and monthly incentives for those students who post the most, make the most progress, and really participate in motivating the group!
