Course Description

Turn and Burn: 360 Degrees of Jumping Skills :: Ashley Deacon

Teach your dog to set themselves up properly for turns, allowing them to jump tightly and efficiently.

This online class will cover a progression of simple drills focused on improving your dog’s jumping skills; teaching them how to set themselves up properly for efficient turns and proofing that they consistently recognize the correct direction to turn. These drills will also improve your timing and give you confidence that your dog has committed to a turn, allowing you to get ahead on course. Attention will be given to teaching efficient wraps/post-turns, serpentines and backside of the jump skills.

The drills covered are useful not only as foundation exercises for young dogs but also to improve the jumping ability of a dog that is already competing. Only jumps and a tunnel will be used. This class is primarily focused on teaching your dog jumping skills rather than on handling.
